1 DEFINITIONS
“Maritime Standard Limited” and “We” – UK Registered company no. 1155311 – Administrators of Hive Connect.
“Members” and “Applicants” – members or applicants for membership of Hive Connect.
“Hive Connect” - the network of freight companies referred to in these terms and conditions.
“You” – the member or applicant for membership of Hive Connect.
2 WEBSITE

2.1 This website https://www.hiveconnect.me is owned and operated by Maritime Standard Ltd. These terms set forth the terms and conditions under which you may use our website and services as offered by us.
2.2 The website offers visitors who are freight related companies the chance to join Hive Connect and purchase tickets to Hive Connect events.

2.3 The website provides the shipping public with information concerning Hive Connect its Members (their contact information/ corporate web sites etc), as well as links to other sites of interest.

2.4 By accessing or using the website of our service, you approve that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

3 MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
​
3.1 Members shall be defined as freight companies directly involved in the movement, transportation or distribution of freight/cargo that are qualified to do business in their local jurisdictions in accordance with local laws.
​
3.2 Subject to these conditions freight companies are, subject to approval, eligible to apply to become a member of Hive Connect.
3.3 You should go to the homepage at https://www.hiveconnect.me/register to register and submit your membership application online. Maritime Standard Limited will take steps to ensure your privacy is protected.

3.4 In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and related UK and other data protection legislation, Maritime Standard Limited are committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of the information that You provide to us. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, We have in place physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information You submit online (please see https://www.hiveconnect.me/privacy). Applicants and Members shall however also take their own precautions. We will not sell, distribute or release your personal information to third parties without your permission or as required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information which we consider you may find interesting. Maritime Standard Limited’s data protection policy is available on request.

3.5 The Applicant will, if possible, be notified on the status of the application within two business days of submission. Maritime Standard Limited has the unfettered right to accept or reject applicants. No reasons will be provided.
​
3.6 Applicants and Members must fully comply with all relevant laws and regulations applicable to their business, including, but not limited to data processing and security, money laundering and bribery. Membership Fees are required to be paid within 14 days of receipt of acceptance.

3.7 Members are responsible for advising Maritime Standard about any updates and changes to their communications profile via email james.miller@maritimestandard.net.

4 MEETINGS
4.1 Hive Connect will hold regular in-person meetings.
​
4.2 Meeting dates will be shared with members/delegates once they are available and tickets sold through the website https://www.hiveconnect.me/event-list.
​
4.3 Tickets are electronic and non-refundable. Members will be provided with a member code to receive a discount.
​
4.4 Maritime Standard Limited reserves the right to change the date if circumstances require it. Members will be notified of any changes to conference dates as soon as they are available.

5 MISCELLANEOUS
​
5.1 The business language of Hive Connect shall be in English.
​
5.2 All rights and interest in the name Hive Connect and associated logos are owned by Maritime Standard Limited with trademark pending.
​
5.3 Communications shall be primarily by email. Members are expected to maintain an email account and the facility to access attachments in either Microsoft Word or Excel.
5.4 The Governing Law of this agreement and Maritime Standard shall be English law and any disputes or other matter arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of England and Wales.

5.5 Maritime Standard may change its location, telephone, email, fax and other contact details as may be deemed appropriate by Maritime Standard Limited.
